Luxury Bath of Reno Receives
Lead Safety Certification.

January 19, 2009

Reno, NV- Luxury Bath of Reno receives remodel certification for new Environmental Protective Agency (EPA) Lead Paint Renovations, Repairs, and Painting Rule of Section 402 of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). The rule requires firms working in pre-1978 homes and child-occupied facilities to be certified and use lead-safe practices during renovations.

Luxury Bath of Reno president, Alan Hansen said that it is not unusual for his company to install a new system in a home over thirty years old. “We remodel bath systems for a number of reasons, including replacing dated or impaired systems. We want the homeowner to have peace of mind when Luxury Bath remodels their bathroom and it was therefore crucial to have our installers to obtain this certification. We believe we are one of the only bath remodelers in the area to use these lead-safe practices during renovations for our customers,” said Hansen.

The specialized training is an eight-hour course taught by an EPA accredited trainer who certifies individuals to recognize and abate installation sites that could be potentially dangerous sources for lead. Refresher training is required every five years.

“The effects of lead based paint on children, pregnant women, workers, and other adults are extremely harmful. It can cause permanent health problems if not handled properly when renovating. This training provided our entire work force with the knowledge and skills necessary to handle affected materials with the care necessary to ensure everyone’s safety,” said Shelly Galliher, Operations Manager for Luxury Bath of Reno.
